The sunflower - given the right nurture - flourishes and turns its head toward the sun.

I am a mature counsellor with a myriad of life experiences; which together with my various trainings have proven immensely valuable in helping me better understand others. My wide experience as a therapist has equipped me with helpful skills to provide effective short term and long term counselling, for couples and individuals in a safe confidential environment.

As a qualified Integrative Humanistic Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor I have worked extensively and consistently for 20 years gaining wide experience; and successfully created positive change and help for many people.
I work with an Integrative Humanistic Approach which affords the use of many practical and creative methods, from which to help my clients.
My career as a therapist began in 2000 when I trained at the Rowans Hospice as a voluntary Helper in Bereavement. This training, together with subsequent Cruse Bereavement Counsellor training, opened my awareness into discovering, understanding, and developing changed perceptions of my world and life at that time. With confidence from this beginning; I knew I had much to offer others, and commenced training as a qualified therapist - progressing as a trained Counselling Supervisor, a trained couple counsellor, mediator, and a LINK Barnardos trained and appproved Adoption Counsellor as well as many other professional trainings and workshops enriching my work.
Since I qualified in 2002, I have worked consistently and extensively, providing help to many people.

As one of a team of qualified counsellors , my main area of work for 15 years, was the provision of counselling, mediation and clinical supervision to NHS staff at a local hospital. Concurrent with private practice I recently returned to the voluntary sector as a Macmillan Counsellor at a local hospital. I love my work. Supporting others to cope with life challenges, develop a better sense of self, increased confidence, self awareness, and encouragement toward a more fullfilling life has been a rich experience - particularly
from all that my many clients have taught me of the fragility of us all, but the immense possibility to change.

In so many ways life is about loss; loss of health, relationships, love, hope, esteem, finances, work...and so on.
From my wide experience, I hold the belief that my clients often hold some of the answers to their dilemmas, and I see my role as working together to encourage, resource, and enable my client.

Our commitment together would provide the special time to help make that positive change for you.

I provide a Counselling Service for adults, individuals and couples. I am also trained and Ofsted approved to offer LINK Adoption Focused Counselling, (through Barnardos).

I draw from many rich life experiences in my work and welcome difference.
